I'll be back at full speed to update my blog after a long (very long) summer break, with a review of one of the most successful films of last season. Waiting to read (it seems really long) Stieg Larsson's book, I could finally watch the film based on the first book of the late Swedish writer. I found it a gripping thriller, well made and well played by established actors in the international scene. A story perhaps not very original, but in addition to the beautiful environments, what makes a successful book and film international, is the smart and rich description of the characters, who become for the reader / viewer of heroes with all their varied facets.
Mikael Blomqvist (not the former Milan midfielder) is a journalist who runs a magazine assault policy that is called Millennium. The crisis in the newspaper, and the staff of the journalist, are related to legal proceedings for defamation they see Blomkvist accused (and convicted) against a corrupt tycoon of the Swedish economy. Before you start serving his sentence, Blomkvist decides to accept the proposal of the wealthy businessman Henrik Vanger: a generous reward to investigate the disappearance of his beloved niece, which took place forty years ago. Vanger The whole family lives on an island off the coast of the Baltic Sea. Among the many family members do not scorre buon sangue, ed è proprio per questo che Henrik sospetta che nella sparizione della nipote sia implicato qualche suo stretto parente. Al fianco di Blomkvist ci sarà l'emblematica amazzone cyberpunk Lisbeth Salandra, una giovane hacker con alle spalle un passato ricco di misteri.
Piacevole ed emozionate fino alla fine. Particolarmente bella la scena della vendetta di Lisbeth. Insomma, le donne non si toccano neanche con un fiore, figuriamoci odiarle.
