Often you may want to attach photos to documents, and to do that just take the photo file (usually jpeg) and drag it to an open document in Open Office or Word.
Doing this, however, the new document would be "heavy" and there would be no possibility of change (for example, to straighten the photo and increase the brightness).
to do such an operation is a graphics program. Is usually supplied with Windows Paint, which is definitely not enough for working with photos, so I suggest first of all to download for free from the site of their Microsoft PowerToys, or small programs that cover some additional gaps in WinXp. In particular, for the photos there is a small add-on called Image Resizer allows you to resize images to make them "lighter" accompanying documents, is enough to do it, once installed the program, click with right mouse button on the image file (or files) and select "Resize Pictures".
